Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz secure a 4-0 victory over Bermuda reclaiming top spot after last week’s disappointing loss to Curaçao during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Jamaica’s commanding triumph at the National Stadium in Kingston resulted in Bermuda’s elimination. The resounding victory not only silenced critics but also lifted Jamaica back to the top of their World Cup qualifying group, strengthening its chances of advancing to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After last week’s disappointing loss to Curaçao that left fans frustrated and questioning the team’s form, Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz delivered the perfect response on Tuesday night. The match began with high energy from both sides, however, Jamaica quickly took control of the game. The relentless passion of the Jamaican players paid off in the 24th minute, when consistent pressure led to an own goal by Bermuda’s Dante Leverock, giving Jamaica an early lead.

Exactly one minute later, Bobby Reid doubled the advantage, putting Jamaica at a staggering two. Renaldo Cephas charged into the box and delivered a precise low cross that Reid met perfectly. The pressure continued as Shamar Nicholson made it 3–0 after linking beautifully with Cephas once again.
In the second half, some strategic substitutions were made. Dujuan “Whisper” Richards was placed in the game at the 62nd minute. The young forward immediately energized the crowd with his confident dribbling and sharp movements. His persistence scored Jamaica its fourth goal around the 76th minute mark proving a dominant performance from both him and his home side.
Jamaica now has nine points from four games, which puts them at the top of Group B. With eight points, Curaçao is close behind, and Trinidad and Tobago is still in the competition with five. Bermuda’s loss leaves them without a single point and officially removes them from the qualifiers.
The stadium was vibrant with supporters of both teams present, hundreds of which filled the stands waving flags and playing various instruments such as drums, vuvuzelas and even pot covers.
Jamaica moves closer to its dream of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with high morale, marking another positive chapter for the Reggae Boyz’s campaign to make a return to the global stage.
