On Tuesday September 27, 2016, the University of Technology, Jamaica hosted their open house at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium, showcasing its programme offerings to high school and other prospective students. It was a wonderful array of colours as students from different high schools across Jamaica came out in their numbers. One school, Glenmuir High, had over 300 students in attendance.

This annual event was surely a treat as participants were entertained by several presenters, music and the occasional giveaways. Master of Ceremonies and past UTech, Ja. student union president, Vladimir Wallace, grabbed the attention of those in the auditorium when he challenged a few students to compete in a dance competition.

The highlight however, was a campus wide tour. Students were given a tour of the University and visited faculties in which they had the most interest. They were also given the chance to roam the university’s campus to get a feel of “the college lifestyle.”

The colleges and faculty booths on display presented all the information needed to guide students on their respective future paths. It was truly a successful expo as prospective students were given the opportunity to experience one of Jamaica’s top institutions for a day.
